Gingham plaid patterns are not a new idea; in fact plaid as been considered an "it" pattern for a few seasons now. However, what made plaid stand out for Spring/Summer 2016 on the runway is how bold it has become.

Designers had a little fun and added a bit more color, texture, creativity and in many cases incorporated other patterns like floral or stripes.
