Reflecting on Life & Sharing My Birthday Look

Yesterday was my 31st birthday. It is honestly hard to believe that I am in my 30's. Not because I think I am old, let's be real...your 30's are your best years, but because I don't know where the time has gone. I mean I graduated, from college, almost 9 years ago...that is nuts. So much has happened since then and yet it doesn't feel like it was that long ago. It's kind of weird.

Every year, on my birthday, I reflect on the past year which tends to lead to reflecting on life in general. I can honestly say that I am very happy with where I am in my life and wouldn't change my journey one bit because it got me here. My journey has not always been easy...I'm telling you God likes to test me but that is because he knew how strong I was before I did.

Audrey Hepburn: A style icon!

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite style icons of all time!
Today, Audrey Hepburn would be 85.

Audrey was known for her humble, kind and charming ways. In 2006, New Woman Magazine named Audrey the most beautiful woman of all time and the American Film Institute (AFI) ranked her as the third greatest female star of all time. She was funny, giving and elegant, all traits that contributed to her title of "dream girl" time and time again.

One of my favorite traits of Audrey was her ability to always look flawless. She had this effortless, classic look that woman are still trying to mimic today!

Below are a few current looks (and staples for every ladies closet) to help you achieve the classic look Audrey Hepburn perfected years ago.

My 3 Favorite Trends For Spring 2014!

There are a lot of fun trends this spring but I decided to only focus on the three trends I am most excited about and currently incorporating into my daily style.

1) Metallics:

There is something so chic about a girl in metallic. This heavy metal style was seen on the runway over and over again and although it was fierce at Fashion Week it also tones down well in order to compliment the everyday lady. To incorporate this trend into your everyday style try starting with accessories. Think shoes, jewelry, purse or even your go to bikini of the season. For those of you that are a little bolder in your fashion choices introduce a shiny dress, top, skirt or pant into your wardrobe this spring.

Skirt: Marissa Webb

Top: Altuzarra

2) Floral Frenzy:

I love flowers and I adore a good floral print. This trend is fresh, happy and colorful; all adjectives to perfectly describe spring and let's not forget girly. Pair this style with your personality; go loud and vibrant if you like attention or a lot of colors. Or tone it down with something soft and less energetic if you are on the quiet side. Either way you will look great, feel great and be ready for spring.

3) Blush (duh, it's in my top 3!):

Here it is again; my favorite color of the moment. Although blush is not on Pantone's Spring Colors for 2014 list it keeps showing up and I couldn’t be happier. This is a great color. It is feminine without being cliché girly. It is soft and romantic but can be worn flawlessly by a strong, bold woman. I have been obsessing over blush for some time now and truly think everyone pulls it off (with the right tone for their coloring). This trend can go anywhere and has so much flexibility. In my opinion blush is a neutral, a basic, right there with black, whites, grays and navy! Everyone should use this color somehow. Whether it be with accessories, the clothes that fill your closet, the accents around your home or incorporated into your wedding design…blush is my new go to...what about you?

I love this whole look!
Ditch the jacket to take this look from winter to spring as the weather warms up.
